New Members
Key Club welcomes new members at any time of the year. Current Montgomery High School students may join at any time of the year. Eighth grade students may join as "incoming freshman" as soon as they complete (that is, graduate) eighth grade, if they are "enrolled" as prospective Montgomery High School students . That allows incoming freshman to complete service projects with the Club and get to know other high school students during the summer.
Need to Raise Money for Dues?
It's easy to raise money for your dues! All you have to do is come to our club meetings at lunch in Room 30 starting Wednesday, August 22. There, get candy bars to sell! Those full-size candy bars will be gone before the week is up, and all you have to do after that is hand in the money at the next meeting.
What do I DO to become a member?
The Club asks members to complete the forms (links to which are below), so that the Club has complete contact information for all members. The Club also asks that each member complete the photo release, so that each person can be included in photos that are circulated and used for Key Club recognition and awards. Also, for safety purposes, we ask that each member complete a medical form because many of the Club's service projects are completed off-campus, and this information is held by the Club's Advisors in the event of emergencies. Some events also require specific permission forms, which are available prior to the event. Carpooling is generally arranged to all Key Club events. All 4 forms can be accessed from the links below.
Key Club members contribute "dues" of $15 per school year for official Key Club membership, which covers the cost of membership in Key Club International, the member's Key Club pin, and access to the leadership training that makes Key Club unique from all other high school service clubs. The contribution also covers insurance at club events and the Club's t-shirt, as designed and chosen by the Club. Because the Club is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Oakmont, any student who qualifies for free or reduced fee school lunches can have this contribution paid by the Kiwanis Club. There are also opportunities to fundraise to cover the cost of this contribution. Fundraisers also help reduce the costs that might be associated with the trips that Key Club students have the opportunity to take, especially Fall Rally, District Convention, and Key Leader.
